Firstly, hello and welcome to the Bumbles website. My name is Patsy, proprietor of Bumbles Day Care. I established Bumbles in 1993 in Rosetta, an area of Belfast I grew up in and that is dear to my heart. At the time, I had 3 children under 5 and wanted somewhere close to home that would provide a homely, loving and caring environment during the day whilst I worked full-time as an office manager for a mental health charity.
Throughout our 27 years, we have welcomed thousands of families and children and employed around 200 team members. We have even had children return as team members working alongside those that cared for them when they were little. All five of my own children were cared for by Bumbles so I know first-hand as a parent how child focused, engaged, passionate and committed every member of my team is. And these are the core values we still hold to this day.
At Bumbles, we believe that children, as individuals, learn through creative play and are encouraged to develop at their own pace. With the emphasis on fun, our highly trained and committed team provide our children with quality care and education. Bumbles has been and still is, a place for living, playing, learning and growing up in and I am extremely proud of our reputation as a homely, safe, stimulating and welcoming environment for all our families.
I am introducing the Bumbles blog at a time when I believe there is great importance to advise, inform and help families, fellow colleagues in our sector and the wider community in any way we can on topics related to our industry. With over 27 years’ experience in Childcare, we hope to share some useful updates and welcome you to get in touch at any time.
As an Early Years professional, I am required to reflect as part of my everyday which I do, but journalistic flare is not my forte so bear with me. This has been such an important and challenging couple of weeks that I wanted my reflections at this time to become the start of Bumbles blogging journey.
