Bumbles attends the Nursery Managers Show 2023

Last Saturday (1st July 2023), Bumbles’ Senior Team attended the Nursery Managers Show in Birmingham alongside 4,000 other Nursery and Care industry colleagues.

The day was themed around Operational Excellence, Well-being and an opportunity for our team to avail of free CPD (Continuous Professional Development). The talks led by leading industry experts spoke on topics such as:

  • Confident Leadership
  • Neuroinclusion in the Early Years
  • Menopause support in the work place
  • Equality, diversity & inclusion
  • Intergenerational childcare
  • …and more

What we took home…

The show was a great opportunity for our team to be inspired listening to experiences and tips from industry experts, talk with some existing suppliers and explore new opportunities with others. We caught up with some of the team at Famly, the Early Years platform that Bumbles implemented into our service in 2019 to digitise a lot of our record keeping, improve our communication methods with parents and team members, record observations, plan our activities and more. We are excited for the future features coming soon for the app.

Taking to the stage…

There were definitely a few ‘Fan girl’ moments when Boyzlife hopped up on stage to perform a medley of Boyzone and Westlife hits over lunch! And the wonderful Davina McCall spoke with panels throughout the day highlighting the importance of the care sector and the amazing work that childcare and care providers do for local communities. The panelists showed enormous passion for working in their industry. This was so evident when they spoke, yet the one key factor they mentioned when Davina asked what would help the sector or them in their roles was simply for their role and career to be more recognised.

A few words from Bumbles Manager Kerrie…

It was a fantastic day of learning and professional development for our senior management team. I particularly enjoyed the seminar on neurodiversity by Cheryl who has started the company “Aperion”. It was fantastic to hear from a trainer who was so passionate about her experiences with children with various additional needs – I could have listened to her talk all day. It was really interesting to hear about the different ways that she has encouraged the inclusion of these children in a variety of settings. Following this seminar, we will look at further training for our team at Bumbles in how we can further support children with varying needs. Of course getting to see Boyzlife was also a big highlight of the day!”
