We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cleaner / Practitioner to join our friendly team at Bumbles. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for our young children and staff. This is a key role in ensuring the well-being of the children and requires a meticulous approach to hygiene.

We want you to be very much part of the Bumbles team and from time to time, you will also have the opportunity to be part of our groups helping care for the children and getting involved in various planned activities.

Hours: Part-time (3:30pm to 6:30pm Monday to Friday) / hours are negotiable.

Salary: £12.00 to £12.50 per hour

Job Summary:

As Housekeeper of Bumbles on the Hill, you must ensure a safe and clean environment by completing daily cleaning / housekeeping tasks as per schedule set by the manager of the setting. You will help ensure that the high standards of care, service, safety and hygiene are maintained according to all Bumbles Day Care policies, procedures and routines. Bumbles on the Hill is a small ground floor setting made up of two adjacent buildings; The House and The Pods. 

We are looking for someone that joins us in the later half of the day and can also contribute to life at Bumbles. We very much want you to be part of the team. We are looking for someone who wants to experience working with children alongside ensuring our spaces are clean.

Your role and responsibilities as Bumbles on the Hill’s Housekeeper include:

  • Clean and Disinfect All Areas: Thoroughly clean and disinfect all rooms, play areas, toilets, and common areas throughout the day. This includes sanitizing toys, changing tables, surfaces, floors, and sinks.
  • Maintain a Hygienic Environment: Ensure all waste bins are emptied regularly and disposed of appropriately (general waste, recycling, food waste). Refill soap dispensers and paper towel dispensers as needed.
  • Cleaning During Operation: Discreetly clean spills, messes, and accidents throughout the day to minimise disruption to children’s activities and ensure a safe and sanitary environment. Working in partnership with our team to ensure laundry id being progressed.
  • Reporting and Restocking: Report any cleaning supply or equipment needs to the Manager and ensure a clean and organised storage area for cleaning supplies.
  • Adhere to Safety Standards: Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Report any safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.

HEALTH & SAFETY

  • To ensure that care is taken for the health and safety of yourself, the staff, children and any persons on the premises in accordance with the health and safety policies. 
  • To observe all safety and hygiene rules, policies and procedures of Bumbles. 
  • To comply and adhere to fire policies and procedures. 
  • Depending on your start time, you may be alone on site. You will be required to make sure all lights are switched off and the building is locked / gates closed at end of night.
