Sparkling smiles at Bumbles

Did you know that as soon as a child’s teeth start to come through, they are ready for tooth brushing to start?

Children don’t just have sparkling personalities, at Bumbles, we promote their sparkling smiles too! This is through fun and the careful guidance from our team during Bumbles ‘Time to Brush.’ Our Nursery age children learn the importance of brushing their teeth as part of a healthy and happy daily routine at Bumbles.

Here’s how we help:

  • Early Habits, Big Benefits: By establishing good oral hygiene routines early on, children are more likely to continue brushing properly throughout their lives avoiding tooth decay and other dental problems.
  • Brushing Buddies: Brushing together at Bumbles is a fun and social experience. Children learn from each other and are more likely to be enthusiastic about brushing if their friends are too.
  • Helping Hands: Our Practitioners ensure every child brushes effectively, reaching all those nooks and crannies that might be missed.
  • Supporting Parents: We often hear comments from parents about how helpful encouraging children to brush their teeth at Nursery is and how it has positively impacted their routine at home.

How does Bumbles make teeth brushing fun for children?

Bumbles provides each of our children with a child-size biodegradable toothbrush, identifiable by colourful bristles and their name! A pea size squirt of child-friendly toothpaste is all you need. Each of our groups then use helpful techniques to encourage the children to brush their teeth.

  • Make it a sociable experience. Just before lunch, ‘Bumbles Time to Brush’ is coordinated by our team. Instead of standing over a sink, we relax and sit together at our lunch tables, or in a group circle in our rooms and brush our teeth together. It is so rewarding seeing the children learn from adults and from eachother.
  • Make Music. Our groups have identified a few happy toothbrushing songs that the children really enjoy. This encourages them to brush their teeth for the length of the song.
  • Capture their imaginations with a story. The children love to listen to stories whilst they are actively brushing their teeth together.

Through teamwork, routine and open communication with families, we can ensure a healthy, happy start for a lifetime of smiles!
