Mike the owl man comes to visit and brings with him his famous owls. Barn owls and other owls. Mike is very knowledgeable and is able to teach the children lots of interesting owl facts in a fun way.

Mike may also bring other animals with him too.

  • Should the owls become scared or agitated due to the volume or mishandling they may try to attack the children, leading to scrapes or bites which could potentially lead to professional medical assistance being required
  • Hygiene issues- from the animals

 

  • Mike and staff team to ensure the children are seated and are listening to the clear instructions whilst maintaining a safe volume for the animals
  • The children only handle the owls in a way in which they are instructed by Mike. Mike and staff to be observant in that the children are handling the animals with care
  • Mike will not let the owls out if he thinks they are agitated or frightened. The owls are extremely well behaved and well trained.
  • If children are given the opportunity to hold the owls, Mike will provide children with a protective glove which is made of a thick material.
  • Hygiene: Ensure there is enough antibacterial gel and adequate hand washing is in place after the handling of the animals.
  • The children get to see these magnificent creatures up close!
  • Learn lots of different facts about owls, breed of owls , their habitats, what they like to eat etc
  • A really fun and engaging group activity/visit.
