Growing Stronger Together: A Behind-the-Scenes Update on Leadership & Life at Bumbles

If you’ve popped into our Rosetta setting over the past 12 to 18 months, you might have noticed a very familiar face spending a bit more hands-on time around the building.

To navigate a period of team transitions and wider recruitment challenges across the Early Years sector, our Director Patsy stepped directly into the Manager and Person in Charge (PIC) roles at HQ and Rosetta. It was a hands-on journey aimed at giving our team, children, and families the steady support needed.

Last month, we shared a really positive update with our Bumbles community via our Famly app: thanks to the incredible strength and dedication of the team around us, our leadership structure is stronger than ever. Because of this solid foundation, Patsy is gradually stepping back from day-to-day operational management to refocus on the strategic future of Bumbles.

This isn’t a step away—it’s a shift in focus. Patsy’s commitment to our families remains as deep as ever, and this step allows Patsy to focus on shaping the roadmap for Bumbles while our brilliant Senior Leadership Team takes the reins on daily operations.

Homegrown Talent & Familiar Faces

At Bumbles, we’ve always believed that childcare is built on trust, consistency, and warm relationships. That’s why we take immense pride in nurturing talent from within our own team. When leadership comes from people who already know Bumbles vision, purpose and values, our settings continue to feel like a true home away from home.

We’d love to take a moment to celebrate some of the remarkable people leading the way across our settings:

• Sigourney: Sigourney’s story is a testament to growing your Childcare career within Bumbles. She first walked through our doors as a student 13 years ago! Fast forward through more than a decade of dedication, passion, and expertise, and she has grown into an exceptional Manager who leads with heart every single day.

• Kelly-Marie: Stepping up to fulfill the Manager role during Seanna’s maternity leave, Kelly-Marie has brought incredible professionalism, depth of experience, and steady continuity to our families and team. Her contribution has been invaluable, and we’re deeply grateful for her leadership.

• Amber: We recently celebrated Amber’s well-deserved promotion to our Management Team! Over the last 7 years, Amber’s energy and dedication to our children and colleagues have made her an essential part of the Bumbles family. We’re excited to support her in this next chapter.

• Judith & Nicola: Our Coordinator PIC (Person in charge) team supports everything running smoothly across our settings. Last year, Judith stepped seamlessly into her Coordinator PIC role to provide flexible interim support. Joining her is Nicola, who recently completed all registration formalities to officially join the Coordinator PIC team!

Just this month, we welcomed back our Senior Coordinator and PIC Melissa from Maternity leave and look forward to welcoming back our Manager Seanna from Maternity leave around October time. Behind the scenes, our broader leadership network continues to keep us grounded and moving forward. Ryan, our Business & Development Manager continues to manage all accounts, payroll, recruitment, HR and Marketing and Matthew leads Digital & IT.

Together, our team ensures that every Bumbles setting maintains the highest standard of care while keeping its own unique warmth and charm.
